Legal
Terms & Conditions
Last updated 24 July 2026
These terms govern the Watch’d app, website and related services. By creating an account or using Watch’d, you agree to these terms.
1. About these terms
Watch’d is a movie and television tracking and community service. These terms also incorporate our Privacy Notice and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are not legally able to agree to these terms yourself, you must have the agreement of a parent or guardian where permitted.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate account information, keep your login credentials secure and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access.
You must not sell, transfer or rent an account, create accounts through unauthorised automation, or impersonate another person. We may change or reclaim a username where reasonably necessary to address impersonation, infringement, abuse or a technical problem.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of reviews, comments, lists, notes, profile information, artwork and other material you submit (“Your Content”).
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format and display Your Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, back up and provide Watch’d. This licence allows us to use service providers for those purposes.
The licence ends when Your Content is deleted from active systems, except where another user has independently retained a copy, a backup remains during normal rotation, or limited retention is reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance or a dispute.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit Your Content. Public content can be viewed, copied or shared by others, so review its visibility before posting.
4. Acceptable use
You must follow the Community Guidelines. In particular, do not use Watch’d to break the law; endanger another person; post abusive, deceptive or infringing content; invade someone’s privacy; spam or manipulate engagement; evade blocks, restrictions or rate limits; distribute malware; compromise an account; or disrupt the service.
Do not scrape, reverse engineer or automate access without permission, except where the law expressly allows it.
5. Reports, blocking and moderation
You can report supported profiles and content in the app, and you can block other users. Safety concerns or appeals that cannot be submitted in the app can be emailed to support@watchd.media.
We may review content, limit its visibility, remove it, issue a warning, restrict features, suspend or terminate an account, preserve relevant evidence, or report suspected illegal activity to an appropriate authority.
Decisions may take account of context, severity, risk and previous behaviour. Serious safety or security risks may result in immediate action. Where reasonably possible and lawful, we will explain material enforcement and consider a good-faith appeal.
6. Watch’d and third-party rights
The Watch’d name, logo, app, software and original service materials belong to us or our licensors. You receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the app in accordance with these terms.
Watch’d uses TMDB metadata. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Metadata, images, dates, credits and availability information may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Apple, Google, TMDB, Letterboxd and linked services are separate from Watch’d. Their own terms and policies apply when you use them. To report an intellectual-property concern, email support@watchd.media and identify the protected work, the Watch’d content concerned, your contact information and your authority to act.
7. Imports and notifications
You may import supported files that you are entitled to use. You are responsible for selecting the correct files, reviewing matches and retaining your original copy. We cannot guarantee that every title or field will match perfectly.
Notifications may be delayed or fail because of platform providers, network conditions or device settings. You can change notification permissions in your device and supported Watch’d settings.
8. Availability and termination
We aim to provide Watch’d with reasonable skill and care, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. We may maintain, update, limit or discontinue a feature where reasonably necessary for security, law, compatibility, licensing or service operation.
You can stop using Watch’d and delete your account at any time.
We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where you materially or repeatedly breach these terms, create a safety or security risk, or where law or continued operation requires it. Where appropriate, we will consider the circumstances and provide notice or an opportunity to appeal.
9. Responsibility and liability
Watch’d is an entertainment tracking and community service, not a streaming service or a source of professional advice.
We do not promise that third-party metadata, user content, imports or notifications will always be accurate, complete or available. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If you use Watch’d as a consumer, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, was caused by your breach, or could reasonably have been avoided by following our instructions.
Watch’d is provided for personal and non-commercial use. We are not responsible for business losses arising from consumer use of the service.
10. Changes, law and app-store terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to Watch’d, its providers, risks or the law. We will publish the revised terms with a new date and provide additional notice where reasonably required.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Mandatory consumer rights and any right to bring proceedings in your home courts are unaffected.
If you downloaded Watch’d through an app store, that store’s applicable terms also apply. The store provider is not responsible for providing Watch’d support or maintenance.
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
