Community Guidelines

Last updated 24 July 2026

Watch’d is for thoughtful conversation about movies and television. These guidelines apply to profiles, reviews, comments, lists, recommendations and every other community feature.

1. Treat people with respect

Do not use Watch’d to:

  • harass, stalk, bully, intimidate or make credible threats;
  • promote hatred or violence against a protected group;
  • encourage targeted abuse or ask others to pile on;
  • publish another person’s private, intimate or identifying information without permission; or
  • impersonate someone or falsely claim an affiliation.

Disagreement about a film or show is welcome. Personal attacks are not.

2. Keep people safe

Watch’d does not allow content or behaviour that:

  • exploits, grooms, endangers or sexually abuses a child;
  • creates, shares, requests or facilitates child sexual abuse material;
  • promotes terrorism, violent extremism or credible real-world violence;
  • encourages self-harm or suicide in a harmful way;
  • contains sexual exploitation, sexual solicitation or pornography;
  • facilitates fraud, phishing, malware or account compromise; or
  • breaks the law or encourages illegal conduct.

Thoughtful, critical or educational discussion of difficult subjects in a film or programme may be allowed when it does not facilitate harm or target people.

3. Post content you have the right to share

Do not infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy or other rights. Reviews, comments, lists and recommendations should be genuine and relevant. Do not misrepresent copied material as your own.

If you believe content infringes your rights, email support@watchd.media with enough information for us to identify the protected work and the content concerned.

4. Do not manipulate or disrupt Watch’d

Do not:

  • spam, send unwanted promotions or manipulate engagement;
  • use unauthorised automation to create accounts or interactions;
  • evade blocks, restrictions, security controls or rate limits;
  • scrape or reverse engineer the service without permission; or
  • overload, interfere with or compromise Watch’d.

5. Be considerate about spoilers

Use spoiler controls where available, keep spoilers out of places where people cannot reasonably avoid them, and do not deliberately spoil titles to upset other users. Context matters: discussion inside a clearly labelled review may be treated differently from an unexpected spoiler in a profile or list title.

6. Reports and blocking

Use the in-app Report control when a supported profile or piece of content may break these guidelines. Use Block when you want to stop interaction with another account. For a safety issue or appeal that cannot be handled in the app, email support@watchd.media.

Do not submit knowingly false, abusive, duplicative or retaliatory reports. A report does not guarantee removal; we assess the content and its context.

7. How we enforce these guidelines

Depending on context, severity, risk and previous behaviour, we may limit content visibility, remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account. Serious safety or security risks may result in immediate action.

We may preserve relevant evidence or report suspected illegal activity to an appropriate authority. Where reasonably possible and lawful, we will explain material enforcement and consider a good-faith appeal.

Immediate danger

Watch’d is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service.
